Stay cool and hydrated
Sturgis gets very hot in the summer. Bring light-colored clothing that breathes and reflects the sunlight. Wear long sleeves that are lightweight and easy to remove to prevent sun and windburn, or wear mesh pants and a jacket for even more protection. Don’t forget sunscreen to protect your skin when you aren’t covered.
Be prepared
Driving in and around large packs of bikes takes both confidence and riding skill. Be aware of your surroundings at all times and practice safe riding habits to protect yourself and those around.
South Dakota also has deer, bison, coyotes, sheep and other wild animals roaming the frontier and wandering onto roadways. Be alert to their presence and avoid riding between dusk and dawn.
Have fun
Remember, you are headed to the largest motorcycle rally in the world. Expect hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts who share your riding passion and a ton of awesome custom bikes. Have fun and enjoy making memories.
